Therapist Training: Supporting Teens in Nicotine Cessation and Prevention

Statistically, 30-40% of high schoolers use nicotine, and many of them want to quit but don’t know how. In fact, 50% of teens who vape express a desire to quit but struggle to find the right tools or support. This training will equip you with strategies to help your teen and young adult clients on their journey to quit nicotine, and provide guidance on how to effectively engage teens who may not yet be ready to stop.

In this training, you’ll learn:

  • How to assess whether your client uses nicotine - how to ask and when to ask.

  • The underlying factors driving nicotine use among teens, and young adults from stress to social pressures.

  • Why conventional nicotine cessation programs often miss the mark with this age group.

  • Practical, teen-focused approaches that have been proven more effective, including harm reduction strategies and how to help teens regain control over their nicotine use.

The participation fee is $25 and is capped at 20 therapists.
